Dear Diary...
It has been a long 6 (or 7) years since aspiring to create content and share my life with the world. And oh boy, it has been unpredictable, full of challenges and full of growth.
As a matter of fact, I did create content. I just never shared it. Living in Dubai and the strict laws around sharing content has made me feel paralyzed, that I might do something wrong accidentally. I wanted to stay respectful, and instead of spreading the wings of my creativity, it made me mute.
In my uniform in a stunning luxury hotel room in Shanghai, 2019.
Dubai was a wonderful place to live and be in. If I didn’t dare to take off my online journey, I did dare to take off IRL. Dubai has given me the wings to fly freely offline, in all the different ways you can imagine it. As a cabin crew I have seen, learned and grown more than I ever could in a career on Earth. And as a forever curious person my soul was finally set free. Among all the moves, living in foreign countries, new cities and different continents, I first fully ever felt like I am home and among my people was in the SKIES. Because there I could live and breathe what it means to be human. Tens and possibly hundreds of different cultures at once, people from every continent, different corners of their countries with colourful and unique local traditions, diverse languages and oh so many unique and beautiful personalities. I felt so alive, everyone was so special and so united.
Taking off in a plane and looking back on Earth unites us all in what we truly are: the human kind. The human, that is kind. That is curious. That is compassionate. We are all so unique, yet so much the same.
I do miss it. I miss the skies a lot. And I will forever be a traveller and an explorer. For now, let me share what I have seen. What I have done and where I have been. Let’s learn together, let’s take off online together.
